"Not all that is lost can be found, not all that your heart finds is bliss..."
Not all that is lost can be found,
not all that your heart finds is bliss,
for after life spins you around,
there's a loss there your soul's gonna miss.

Before I begin, I would just like to take the time to announce that I, moonlitxmelody, am stepping down as your moderator. It's been an exciting few...years?...months?...but I have too many communities and not enough willpower to run all of them as smoothly as they deserve to be run. I'll still be hanging around and watching you guys grow, but now I bow out gracefully, and hand the reins of leadership over to the lovely insaneladybug. Let's hear it for your new mod, everybody! I know she'll perform wonders.

And now, enough with sentimental drivvle! To the introduction with you!

Greetings, reader and welcome to

I know, I know, you've all heard it before, but you're gonna hear it again, so you may as well just sit back, relax and listen, akay?

I did not write any of the below info. It was all magically yoinked from
and tweaked to suit the spirit of this particular challenge.

Ready? Here we go.

Who We Are

We are a friendly, low-pressure community of writers and artists who want to explore and develop their writing and/or drawing skills. We were inspired mainly by the
communities, as well as by all those incredible 30 themes coms out there.

Wow. That was a lot of 'community' word usage.

Writers/artists of all fandoms are invited to participate, and couples of all orientations are welcome and encouraged. Homophobia/heterophobia will absolutely NOT be tolerated. If you are either, then leave. Now.

This community might contain mature content. However, we will not limit what you are to read, so please surf at your discretion.

Feel free to join just to enjoy the fanworks, but don't be intimidated. Writers and artists of all levels are welcome, so don't be shy. I promise we don't bite.

[;] means either 'or' or 'and'! Go wild! I personally prefer to think of both prompts as two halves of a whole (just look at them; they give off amazing ideas when combined!), but you can pick just one or the other if you want. The bonus themes (31-40) can be swapped out for other themes in the table if you find you can't write one. Just put something like 'N/A' or 'Swapped with (number of theme here) beside the word you couldn't write to so we know that you're not using that one and that we don't have to look for a fic filling that particular prompt.

How It Works

Wanna claim a couple? Wanna claim a character? Wanna claim a series? You can do it all. Don't worry if someone's already got your couple. Honestly, you're not going to write the exact same fic, and if you do, someone's been plagiarisin'. Oh, when a couple/fandom/person/series is claimed, it counts for both writing and art. No one is required to do both, but it's definitely encouraged.

Original characters, original stories, OCs with fandom characters, crossovers between two fandoms, AU stories, poetry, lyrics, screenplays and songfics are all acceptable. Icons and/or banners are not. (Try
for things such as that.)

Claiming your couple/s:</i>
Fill out the form
at this post
with the subject line "~Request of Loss~". (If you don't enter that subject exactly as it appears here to show me you've read this through, then your claim will be deleted and ignored.) Make sure you include the full names of both characters and the fandom that they are from. If you're claiming a character, just slap down their name and fandom. If it's a general series or a fandom itself, just stick it where it belongs.

When you are done with a couple/character/series/fandom, please
drop them off
at this entry, and
submit your table here
to receive your banner.

Dropped Claims:
If you decide that you no longer want/can't complete a claim, then please
drop it off
at this post

The Deadline:
Deadline? Oh, you mean that annoying jagged little line on the far distant horizon? Aahh. Just ignore that.

Only fic/art may be posted to this community. (Advertisements for other communities are absolutely not tolerated.) If you want to affiliate with us, then
fill out this form
and allow up to 24 hours for your community to be listed at the bottom of this page.

You may use
fake cuts
but you must have the correct subject and header information as well as a link to the actual location.

The Idea

Themes do not have to be written in any particular order. All you need do is complete 30 of them.

Feel free to interpret each theme however you wish. Just remember, the general theme of 30_losses
is, obviously, loss. It doesn't need to be the focal point, but it must be in there one way or another. The interpretation of what constitutes as loss, however, is entirely up to you.

The style of your entries is completely up to you. For authors, it can be as short as a 100 word drabble or haiku, or as long as a multi-chaptered novel. For artists, it can be a full watercolor or the five-minute sketch you did before class. All that's important is capturing the feeling of the theme.

Works in Progress:
WIPs? Bring 'em all on! WIPs are a beautiful thing, and what better way to tackle them than with a nice big healthy dose of loss and ensuing angst?

When you post, please use the following format:

Example Header

Subject: What's Right Before My Eyes

Title: What's Right Before My Eyes
Author/Artist: Samara
Rating: R
Fandom: Lord of the Rings
Pairing: Aragorn/Frodo
Theme: 12B - Blinding Truth
Genre/s: Angst, Romance
Warnings: Insinuations of sex, slash
Words: 2,500
Summary: Sometimes the deepest hurts are the hardest truths to handle. And sometimes they come from those you're heart will always love.
Disclaimer/Claimer: Lord of the Rings is the sole property of J. R. R. Tolkien and New Line Cinema. I own nothing. No money is being made by the creation of this work, and no copyright infringement is intended.
A/N: This is not yet a real story, nor do I know if it will become one. I am merely using it as an example.

< lj-cut text= " Your Work Behind Here " >

This is your work. *waves*

</ lj-cut text= " Your Work Behind Here " >

Remove the spaces between the symbols and the words. The phrase 'Your Work Behind Here' will turn into a link, so just substitute it with either the title of the fic, the first line...whatever you want your readers/viewers to click on.

Anything longer than a teaser paragraph of your fic and ALL artwork must be put behind an LJ-cut. (See the example above to learn how to do this).

All ratings are welcome, but anything of an R or higher rating must be clearly marked as such in front of the LJ-cut.

You do it, you're gone. No warning, and a nice long and nasty letter from me, your mod. And hey, if you're particularly lucky, you may even receive a little visit from Frank himself.

Feedback is always encouraged and beamed upon. However, there is a fine line between constructive criticism and flaming. Don't cross it, or you're out.
